Cardiff Cycle Tours: RewarDING RiDING
Ding is a not-for-profit social enterprise to support the local community.
The price of the tours covers costs, and any money we make is reinvested in the business so we can do even more good stuff. We aim to promote cycling in Cardiff as a healthy and sustainable way to get around the city and to support local independent businesses. Cardiff is a beautiful cosmopolitan place, partly because of its historic trading connections. Immigration has helped to shape the city and we celebrate that diversity on our tours.

Setting off from a city centre independent café, you’ll ride on cycle paths to Cardiff’s grand Edwardian civic centre, past the third Marquess of Bute’s statue overlooking the castle he rebuilt in gothic style and through Bute Park with its famous arboretum. You’ll follow the river past the Principality Stadium and through the city’s wetlands to the old Tiger Bay – the site of the docks which made the city rich. You’ll pass the Senedd (the Welsh Parliament) and make a pit-stop at the Norwegian Church, built by visiting sailors. You’ll head back to the city centre, with its beautiful Victorian arcades, home of the world’s oldest record shop. En route, we’ll sample a Welsh cake from the old city jail, now home of the indoor market.
Ding will take you on a cycle tour of the Welsh capital. On our distinctive blue bikes, furnished with traditional bells, you’ll explore the sights and stories of Cardiff, from Romans to rock stars. Along bike lanes and through the city’s parks, you’ll learn the history behind Cardiff’s landmarks and visit the parts other tours can’t reach. With frequent stops and an easy pace, you don’t need to be super-fit – just a competent cyclist. And the added ingredient? Our friendly guides, featuring journalists and broadcasters, will pass on their own experiences of living and working in the city. So, give the bell a ding and come along for the ride.

Setting off from a city centre independent café, you’ll ride on cycle paths to Cardiff’s grand Edwardian civic centre, past the third Marquess of Bute’s statue overlooking the castle he rebuilt in gothic style and through Bute Park with its famous arboretum. We’ll head north alongside the river to the historic village of Llandaff with its 12th century cathedral. We’ll visit the Victorian Insole Court mansion, home of pioneering mine owners, before sampling a craft beer (or a coffee) in the leafy suburb of Pontcanna. Back in the city centre, there’ll be time to take in the beautiful Victorian arcades and the old city jail, now home of the indoor market.
