Street Art and The City : Lodhi Art Cycle Tour
Started in 2016 and officially inaugurated in 2019 Lodhi is India’s first public art district. Over the years it has become one of the most relevant attractions of the city with more than 50 large scale murals by the best local and international artists.
The Lodhi art Cycle tour will introduce you to the stories and concepts that inspired the project and its artworks while offering an insight into the history of the location. This will also be an unconventional way to experience art and the city in an interactive format.
Running for approximately 3.5 hours the tour will end at Humayun’s Tomb, giving a unique opportunity to journey from the contemporary to the past heritage of the city.
After the tour, we highly recommend visiting the Sunday market at Sunder Nursery as well.
Visitors will be led by a guide from St+art India Foundation and a co-guide from Delhi by Cycle. A bottle of water and helmets (optional) will be provided to you before the commencement of the tour. We’ll take a break from bicycling halfway to re-energize with some tea and snacks at the Lodhi Central Park. Participants may also use this window to engage in conversations and ask for more information about the project.
As a participant, we expect you to be moderately good with a bicycle and ready to ride a distance of around 11 km. Tour-specific details will be shared with the participants a day prior to the tour. Participants are required to report at the meeting point on time on the day of the tour.

Witness the past and present glory of Old Delhi.
The Haveli (=Noblemen’s mansion) tour is a spirited and satiating plunge, straight into the deep-end of Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad). At the peak of Emperor Shah Jahan’s rule, his loyal noblemen (Emirs) controlled the social, cultural and economic affairs of the great metropolis of Shajahanabad from their imposing, fortress-like lavish mansions that were built as ‘earthly reminders of the pleasures of Paradise itself’. Three hundred years of decadence, war, re-building and several regime changes later, the much smaller Havelis of today still manage to preserve a stunningly placid beauty that echoes haunting reminders of a much grander past.
Transporting you to this 17th Century city of decadent Emirs, ruthless Persian invaders, woeful poets, mystical men, masterful artists and forgotten architects who wove dreams into the now crumbling contours of Old Delhi – we recreate for you, a spectacularly evocative experience pieced together through the lives and stories of the people who called these Havelis home.

Feel the soul of the Sufi shrines : A South Delhi Cycle Tour
A stimulating and ambitious introduction to the many lives of “Dilli” re-lived in true DBC style: through the many lanes of Delhi – the Nizamuddin tour leads you through a city of mystics, saints, poets, rebels, forgotten Kings, English ladies, refugee colonies and nameless tombs – all buried in the giddying contrast offered by the upscale South Delhi neighbourhoods. Starting in the over-700-year-old settlement of Nizamuddin this tour hacks its way through the 21st-century concrete jungle and flashy lights of South Delhi to show you a city alive in unimaginable fragments.
The South Delhi Cycle Tour is 15 km long and includes tea and breakfast in the lush Lodhi Gardens. It is offered in the mornings (all through the year) and afternoons (from October till April only). DelhiByCycle is proud to have partnered with the Nizamuddin settlement based NGO – Hope Project, for this tour. Hope supports the local community of Nizamuddin in health care and education.

Experience Old Delhi by bike, intense and full of history
The Shah Jahan Tour is DelhiByCycle’s classic recipe for an exhilarating glimpse into the life and times of the great Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and the 1500 acre expanse of his capital – Shahjahanabad. At the time of its construction in the 17th Century, it was arguably, the most prosperous and beautiful city in the world. On this Old Delhi bike tour, you will see glimpses of the past
Today, when you pass through its four-hundred-year-old web of alleys held together with great big meshes of electric cables and infused with the smell of brewing tea and simmering breakfast curry, you see a mind-boggling co-existence of the past and the future, competing for your attention.
Emerging from this rainforest, thick with traditional architecture- typical of Shah Jahan’s time, you will find yourself in a Delhi of another time while you also see the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, the Spice Market and tranquil Civil Lines, the former British colonial area as a sharp contrast to hectic Old Delhi.
This Old Delhi bike tour is here to give you all these experiences. Come to experience Old Delhi with our Shah Jahan tour.

Old Delhi & Mystic Relation With River Yamuna!
Behind every historical capital, there is a great river. The route is an ode to this river that has been a silent witness to Delhi’s history and is now a recurrent victim of its excesses. Starting from the little lanes of Shahjahanabad, while the city is still sleepy in its proverbial stocks passing along the magnificently formidable walls of the Red Fort we find ourselves on the meditative quiet banks of the Yamuna at Nigambodh Ghat. A visit to the famous ghats – migratory birds circling above the calm waters – unravels the ritualistic devotion with which the Hindus treat the historic river.
Despite its current struggles with pollution, the Yamuna is a goddess to the eyes of her devotees. Concluding with a memorable view of the Jama Masjid back through the streets of Old Delhi, the Yamuna Route is a true experience in the stimulating contradictions that is India.
