Delhi – Jodhpur - Chandelao – Sardar Samand – Jojawar – Kamlighat station Jojawar -Ranakpur – Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur – Delhi
Day1: Delhi
Arrival at delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.Visit Qutub Minar (victory tower), Humayun Tomb, Jama Mosque, and walk-in old Delhi.
Day2: Delhi to Jodhpur
Transfer to airport for Jodhpur. Arrival and meet to the Cycle touring team. Visit Majestic Mehrangarh fort of Jodhpur, built by Rao Jodha (ruler of Jodhpur region) in the 15th century.
Day3: Jodhpur to chandelao
Chandelao is the ancestral home of the landowners of the area and has been tastefully converted into a comfortable hotel. It offers you an authentic experience of traditional Rajasthani hospitality in a tranquil village setting. A stroll around the village will bring you face to face with the sights and sounds of rural India – local craftspeople ply their trade, animals graze, women in colorful native dress fetch water from the wells and lakes, children play in the street and everyone welcomes visitors with a friendly greeting.
Day4: Chandelao to Sardarsamand
Cycle to your next destination, the Sardar Samand Palace. Built-in 1933, this charming lake-side palace is an Art Deco hunting lodge. The lake is a paradise for bird lovers with a large variety of local and migratory birds. Freely roaming herds of Chinkaras and Black Bucks can also be seen around here in large numbers. The countryside with its lively villages and smiling village folk will make you stop by and interact with them.
Day5: Sardarsamand to Jojawar
Set amidst the Aravalli hills, the little garrison fort of Jojawar was once a major principality of the Royal house of Marwar. Jojawar is a perfect place for those looking for the old world charm of the princely fiefdoms of yesteryear.
Kamlighat railway station. Rural Rail – a magical experience to traverse down the Aravalli hill section in a small meter gauge train. We will purchase the tickets and board the train which arrives at 10:30 am. It’s a local train and one is seated on wooden seats along with the locals who can be a wedding party, pilgrims, daily travelers, and children and sometimes even their cattle!!! The train traverses through the Aravali scrub jungle and through tunnels and over bridges; stopping en route at Goram Ghat Station in the forest, where monkeys arrive in hoardes and the travelers usually carry bananas or biscuits to feed them.
Day6: Jojawar to Ranakpur
Built-in the 15th century, Ranakpur temples are very well preserved and one of the holiest places for Jain pilgrimage. These temples lie in a remote and peaceful valley of the Aravali range. The main temple, dating back to 1439, is called the Chaumukha Temple or the “Four-faced temple” and is dedicated to Adinath — the first of Jain teachers. Beautiful sculpture and grand structures mark the glory of this place. It has 29 halls supported by 1,444 carved pillars, none of which are alike. The play of light and shade on the minutely carved figures leaves a tantalizing effect. The temple was erected on the top of a hill on a raised platform and covered an area of about 4,460 meters.
Day7: Ranakpur to Kumbhalgarh
Cycle to Kumbhalgarh Fort. Cradled in the cluster of thirteen mountain peaks of the Aravalli ranges, this is a formidable medieval Fort. Rising from a prominent ridge, 1014 meters high from the sea level, the fort was built in the 15th century AD by Maharana Kumbha. The massive fort encompassed by a 36km long boundary wall is the second largest after the Great Wall of China, has seven majestic gates and seven ramparts one within the other. Rounded bastions and soaring watch towers strengthen the crenelated walls of the fort making it an impregnable structure.
Day8: Kumbhalgarh to Udaipur
Though the entire state of Rajasthan is replete with fantastic hilltop fortresses, exotic fairytale palaces and gripping legends of medieval chivalry and heroism, no city is quite as romantic as Udaipur. 'The city of lakes', as Udaipur is called, is one of the most sought after destinations in entire India for relaxing. The city has three huge lakes within its limits and a large number of palaces and other monuments worth visiting. It is surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains where wildlife still abounds.
Day10: Udaipur
Finish witha city sightseeing of Udaipur and visit Jagdish temple, built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1650 AD, City palace, construction started by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 AD and completed after 400 years. Now you will go for a boat ride on the lake Pichola. After lunch will go to visit Sheheliyon ki Badi (Royal Gardens), built by Maharana Sangram Singh in 1734 AD.
Day11: Transfer to Udaipur airport.
