Our home is Andalucía and our self guided bike trip lets you ride across the best and most famous landscape of Southern Spain. From your start in Carmona (just outside busier Seville) you can cycle all the way to Granada!
With an option to begin in Cordoba for those with less time, this is a route that encapsulates what we believe is the true heart of the South of Spain. You even pass through our home town, so we know the route pretty well! Think, Castanets, Caliphates, Carmen and Castles, that is what this colourful vivacious land shouts.
To explore this area in which the Romans trod, the Moorish society developed, and Spain takes particular pride in, is too much fun to pass up.

Distances are kept lower (daily average of 60 km) but terrain can be challenging. Expect longer hills and hot days in the summer. This is suitable for more experienced cyclists as the route can be quite isolated in parts as you traverse this beautiful landscape. Some will find this route Challenging if heat / climbs are issues. A real fantastic accomplishment for those who enjoy cycling a historic but large landscape. Good surfaced roads on quiet country roads (busier as you near Cordoba and Granada). Suitable for touring-hybrid bikes and road bikes.

Cycle this phenomenal road cycling area, the best and highest in Europe!
Based in the centre of the beautiful city of Granada at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, this tour takes you on 4 varied, scenic and challenging loop rides on roads carefully chosen by us using our local knowledge.
Rides are in the morning and get back early afternoon giving you plenty of time to relax, recover and explore the wonderful city. Being a short tour of 5 days in total, it should appeal to those of you who are looking to get some quality riding in on challenging roads over an extended weekend.
The loops take us out of Granada (easy to cycle in and out of with our local knowledge) onto the silky smooth asphalt roads, passing olive and orange groves and white villages galore. As a final test on the last day of riding, you ascend the infamous “Pico Veleta” of the Sierra Nevada, Europe´s highest road. Plus you have the chance to ride other famous local climbs used in previous La Vuelta’s and the roads where the pros train (Movistar, Garmin, Lotto and Peter Sagan with his Bora Hansgrohe team).. An ideal fixed based training camp.

Ride the roads of the area where we have chosen to base Cycling Country! That means the cycling is excellent.
This package is a must of anyone wanting to experience the best of inland Andalucía.
Starting from Alhama de Granada, explore this scenic country area with a number of loop rides to nearby natural parks, towns and small villages. The mountain scenery combined with open expanses makes for some stunning viewpoints. Alhama itself is a great place to be based with its plethora of bars and restaurants, the magnificent gorge to explore, Sierra walks and the natural hot baths to take a soak in.
After time in the rural setting of Alhama, head off onto your other travels, or continue the tour for another couple days and include the grand city of Granada (bags transferred for you), home of the Alhambra Palace.
The next day embark on one of the great climbs in the world – the Sierra Nevada. Test yourself as you have the chance to ascend the highest road in Europe, the Pico de Veleta.

Suitable for road bikes. The countryside is rolling and the terrain is hilly to mountainous. Be prepared for hills and climbs and of course some great descents. Daily Average Ascent: 1364 metres (4475 feet). Alternative less hillier routes given for a more moderate tour. Moderate option : distances are in an average of 65 km with ascents of 1100 m.
