Cog Wild Bicycle Tours
Cog Wild is more than a mountain bike tour company.
They are a group of passionate riders, travelers, adventurers, advocates and community members that love sharing the best of Oregon by mountain bike. And like all the best things in life, mountain biking is best enjoyed with friends, so they treat you like best friends.
We take you deep into the varied and vast eco-systems of wild Oregon – along rushing rivers, around impossibly blue lakes, across sunny, warm meadows, up towering mountains and back down again. We stop to smell the wildflowers along the way. We cool off in crystal clear streams and soak our satisfied muscles in natural hot springs. And we top it all off with thirst-quenching, locally brewed beer, and amazing food.
We know. Making a decision about where to go or planning what to do on vacation is not the most fun part, so we take care of the details. We want you to enjoy your time in the saddle. We find the best places to sleep under towering trees. that picture-perfect lunch spot around the next bend in the trail, and help you decide what local craft beer to try with dinner (so many choices!). That way, all you have to do is enjoy the ride.

Explore more backcountry trails in the heart of oregon
Ready for the ultimate Oakridge + Umpqua Trail mountain bike adventure? The beauty of this tour is that we get to ride the popular Alpine Trail in Westfir and but also spend a day deeper in the backcountry, exploring the Middle Fork of the Willamette River, south of Oakridge.
This area is home to rugged singletrack with screamers such as Moon Point, the Middle Fork Trail, and the infamous Sawtooth struggle — a full day of mountain biking with the option of bagging two peaks along the way. These trails are loved by locals but aren’t as well known to the casual rider, giving you an opportunity to experience unique and little known Oregon mountain biking.
After two (or three! depending on how we feel) days of solid riding in the Oakridge area, we’ll drive over to the designated Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River to ride the best sections of the North Umpqua Trail — affectionately called the “NUT”. The NUT is a 79-mile long trail that has been designated as one of the International Mountain Bike Association’s (IMBA) “Epic Rides”. For good reason: it includes big climbs, long descents, technical roots, rocks, numerous stream crossings and miles of fun and challenging riding.
Oh did we mention the hanging gardens of ferns and moss, the migrating Chinook salmon, the waterfalls and hot springs? We’ll see all that too. Don’t miss out! Join us on this amazing tour today.

Join us For a Scenic Road Bike Tour with a Farm-Fresh Lunch!
Imagine heading out on bucolic country roads, pedaling under the shade of towering ponderosas, past fragrant sagebrush, curling junipers and snow-capped peaks to arrive at an agricultural oasis for a farm-fresh lunch. Drink a glass of wine, tour the farm, and realize you have chosen the perfect day for this farm-to-table cycling tour.
Cog Wild marries our love of cycling with our passion for sustainability on this road cycling tour that follows the Sisters to Smith Rock scenic bikeway. We will start in historic Sisters, Oregon, to pedal along quiet country roads with mountain vistas and iconic ranch land to arrive at Rainshadow Organics farm for lunch.
They are a self-sufficient full-diet farm, with dozens of varieties of certified organic vegetables, herbs, berries, flowers, and grains. On their 80 acres, they also have pasture-raised, non-GMO fed pork, chicken, eggs, turkeys, and beef. Enjoy the scenery, relax with a cold local beer, and enjoy a nourishing meal and short tour of the grounds before we hit the road again.
The second half of our ride takes us further east alongside a fluffy alpaca farm, cool and clear watering holes, and a teeming wildlife sanctuary before arriving at the iconic Smith Rock. Admire the monolithic features as you pedal the last few miles into the park where we will have time to celebrate the end of the ride and to take in the geologic masterpiece that is Smith Rock.

Mt Bachelor to Bend is one of the most epic mountain bike rides our area has to offer. Imagine this: crisp mountain air mixed with warm sunshine beaming on you as your guide unloads your bikes at the base of Mt. Bachelor, at the crest of the Cascade Mountains. You grab your hydration pack, strap on your helmet, and prepare to spend the rest of the day on up to 35 miles of sweet singletrack bliss as you make your way back to Bend.
This is the most distinctive Central Oregon ride, but know that there are many options. However we get back to Bend, you will sure to experience miles of fast flowing sections, rocky or rooty sections (if desired), scenic alpine views, forest cruising and some of the most fun you can have in the area. As we descend in elevation, you’ll see the changing ecosystems as we go. Plus, we’ll eat a tasty lunch on the trail at one of our favorite viewpoints.
Can’t get enough of this ride? We highly recommend doing this tour more than once. We will give you a unique route each day with new trails and new scenery.
