From Puerto Montt we start our route crossing estuaries and fjords that will connect us with different locations of the Carretera Austral.
This bicycle trip invites you to get to know the most spectacular landscapes of the Carretera Austral Norte. We will begin the journey navigating the Reloncaví Estuary and the bimodal route and pedaling in the middle of national parks, mountains, lakes, rivers, fjords, glaciers and native forests of the Lakes Region and Aysén.
You will visit more than 10 locations, including Hornopirén, Chaitén, Villa Santa Lucía, La Junta, Puyuhuapi, Mañihuales, Puerto Aysén and Coyhaique. In these destinations, we will make our stops in hospitality services and combine them with adventure activities, where we can learn part of the history, traditions and local culture. This route faces paved and loose gravel roads, as well as important challenges such as the Moraga and Queulat slopes.
Come to know and enjoy spectacular attractions such as Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park and its history behind the largest donation of land for conservation in the world, ancient larch trees, Yelcho Glacier, Palena River, Risopatrón Lake, the majestic hanging glacier in Queulat National Park. Level of difficulty & preparation: Medium-high difficulty level, type of road: 150 km gravel - 350 km pavement. Experience in recreational or sport cycling is desirable, good physical condition and enough training on slopes and long distance endurance.
