From fields to waterfalls

Situated in the north of the state, the Araucária Circuit brings the challenges and charms of traversing the slopes of a mountain in the Atlantic Forest and cut by the railroad tracks. On the plateaus, we highlight the bucolic country life with crops, sheep flocks and several forests of Araucaria angustifolia, a tree that testifies to botanical evolution with an estimated origin of 200 million years.

Planned for 4 days, our itinerary makes a selection of the best sections of the Circuit. It starts and ends in São Bento do Sul, going down to Corupá, located on the southern slopes and with a high incidence of waterfalls, and returning to the mountain plateau via Campo Alegre. The geographical peculiarity reveals innumerable natural attractions, added to the presence of the German, Polish and Italian cultures in the ways of life and architecture.

Due to its proximity to Curitiba (100 km), the capital of Paraná was chosen as a base for the arrival and departure of travelers. The trip will have 3 overnight stays, 2 of them (São Bento and Monte Alegre) in rural communities belonging to Associação Acolhida na Colônia, in beautiful places full of nature in authentic contact with country life, in addition to a coáortable hotel in Corupá . On the plateau it is possible to taste the traditional meat of sheep, whose herds are frequent in the landscape.

The Rota das Cachoeiras, located in a wide RPPN, is a unique attraction that reveals the exuberance of the region. To get there, we left the bikes a little aside for a nice walk on the trails to access the waterfalls. In the circuit, beauty and challenges are proportional, given the unevenness and routes in remote areas. As with all our trips, count on a full support to conclude your routes with tranquility and security.
