Heritage Andalusia Bicycle Tour

The Heritage Andalusia Bicycle Tour begins in Granada's Geopark, riding through the UNESCO-designated landscape to Guadix's cave houses, Arab citadel and cathedral. From there the route climbs into the Alpujarras via the 2,000m Puerto de la Ragua pass, through whitewashed Berber-inspired villages to a hotel near Cádiar.

The journey continues to Trevélez, Spain's highest village and home to a centuries-old ham-curing tradition, then on to Capileira in the Poqueira Gorge. The final day crosses the Lecrín Valley's citrus, almond and olive groves, past the Béznar Reservoir, finishing at the Mediterranean coastal town of Salobreña beneath its Moorish castle.

Optional extras include an Alhambra tour, a ham-house visit in Trevélez, and an olive oil tasting at one of Europe's oldest mills in Nigüelas.

Mediterranean climate, sunny with long daylight hours. Spring/autumn 8-19°C, summer 22-35°C (cooler at altitude). Rainfall minimal.

Suitable for:
Riders of moderate fitness wanting an easy to moderate, leisurely trip, including those new to cycle touring. Minimum 7 participants for a guaranteed departure. Rides run 4-6 hours daily, with a support vehicle available.
