Overview
Tour Operator Beyond The Ride
The Alto de Letras Challenge is the world’s longest paved road climb.
The Alto de Letras is the world’s longest paved road climb: 81 kilometers of continuous ascent from the tropical heat of Mariquita (480 m) to the cold páramo at the summit (3,700 m). It is the defining climb of Colombian cycling heritage — the same roads that shaped Egan Bernal, Nairo Quintana, and a generation of world champions.
The Alto de Letras Challenge is a 7-day, fully guided, all-inclusive tour built around this ascent. Every logistical detail is handled — airport transfers, single accommodation at our own unrivaled villa, daily sport massage, nutrition on route, bilingual guides, a dedicated support vehicle, and professional mechanical support. You bring the legs. We handle the rest.
The companion program is not an add-on or an afterthought — it is a core part of the Alto de Letras itinerary. Both tracks run in parallel; cyclists and companions reunite each evening at Casa de Campo La Giralda.
Casa de Campo La Giralda is a 4.92‑rated favorite among cyclists located right at kilometer 0 of Alto de Letras. Each day ends not in a standard hotel room, but in a lush resort‑style countryside haven with pools, open social areas, and kiosks where you can unwind and connect with fellow riders before the next stage of the ascent.
Group size is capped at 8 cyclists. Not for operational simplicity — because your experience demands individual attention, flexible pacing decisions, and a guide who knows your name and your riding style before Day 1.
This tour is designed for serious road cyclists who want to complete one of the world’s great bucket-list climbs with the confidence of full professional support behind them.
Beyond the ride, the journey blends local culture, great food, and historic towns—so cyclists and companions share the adventure, each in their own way.

Tour Operator Beyond The Ride
The Alto de Letras Express offers an unparalleled cycling challenge in Colombia, featuring the world’s longest paved climb.
The Alto de Letras Express covers 167+ km and 3,800 m of elevation across 3 days. It is the full all-inclusive Alto de Letras experience — airport transfers, premium bike, full kit, daily sport massage, bilingual guide, support vehicle, and mechanic — compressed into a format for cyclists who cannot take a full week.
This is not an abbreviated version of the Challenge. The support structure is identical. The riding is demanding. Day 2 is the main summit attempt. The difference is duration: 3 days instead of 7, 167+ km instead of 285+ km.
Companions are also part of the experience. While cyclists take on the climbs, companions enjoy curated cultural time in the region—so everyone shares the journey, each in their own way.

Tour Operator Beyond The Ride
Colombia’s Coffee Region — the Eje Cafetero — is the country’s most underexplored cycling territory.
Roads wind through coffee fincas and UNESCO-heritage landscapes, connecting Salento, Filandia, Manizales, Pereira, and Armenia through gradients that reward climbing without punishing less experienced riders. The cultural richness of the region — recognized by UNESCO as a Cultural Landscape of Coffee, made globally familiar through the story of Disney’s Encanto — makes every rest stop part of the experience. Learn more about Colombia: The Country of Beauty
The Land of Coffee runs two parallel tracks simultaneously. For the cyclist: daily rides through the coffee roads, structured itinerary, bilingual cycling guide, support vehicle, daily sport massage, and the full all-inclusive infrastructure. For the companion: a curated daily program with a dedicated guide — not the cyclist’s guide — covering hacienda visits, coffee processing tours, Valle del Cocora, and the region’s gastronomy.
The companion program is not an add-on or an afterthought — it is a core part of the Land of Coffee itinerary. Both tracks run in parallel; cyclists and companions reunite each evening. Group size: max 8 cyclists plus companions. Beyond the ride, the journey blends local culture, great food, and historic towns—so cyclists and companions share the adventure, each in their own way.
Is This Tour Right for You? – You are a road cyclist of at least intermediate level looking for a culturally rich destination – You are traveling with a partner, spouse, or companion who does not cycle – You want a culturally rich destination with UNESCO heritage, outstanding food, and a slower cultural pace between rides – You value a companion program that is substantive — not an afterthought
