Many stunning views along Johnston Canyon
New in 2021, we offer an e-bike and explore experience to Johnston Canyon. This guided ride takes you from Banff along the iconic Bow Valley Parkway to Johnston Canyon. Once there, à la carte lunch is provided and you have time on your own to explore the canyon, before riding together back to Banff.
Everyone will ride on the new Trek Verve+ 3 E-bikes. The e-bikes makes the hills to and from Johnston Canyon a relative breeze.
The ride from Banff to Johnston Canyon is 25 kilometres, which takes about 1.5 - 2 hours each way.
Once we arrive at Johnston Canyon, you will enjoy à la carte lunch at the Black Swift Bistro at the Johnston Canyon Lodge (included) before exploring the canyon for 1-2 hours on your own. While the entire hike is in the canyon and very beautiful, it is about 2.7 km (1.7 mi) to the upper falls.

Enjoy the scenery with ease
Enjoy the scenery with ease with our local guides and the Trek Verve+ 3 E-bikes. The electric-assist on the e-bikes allows us to see all the most beautiful vistas in and around Banff in the most fun and immersive way possible.
The tour varies slightly from day to day, but generally includes the Lake Minnewanka Loop, the Banff townsite, Tunnel Mountain Road, Vermillion Lakes, and the Banff Springs Golf Course loop past Bow Falls. The guide will talk with your group about options at the beginning of the tour and consider weather conditions for the route.
The e-bikes can be adjusted to different levels of assist, so you can work as hard or little as you would like. With big seats, kickstands, and a low-entry frame, they are comfortable and easy to get on and off of for taking photos. The electric assist also makes them super fun—especially going up the hills.
