You’ll be transferred out of hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh streets before embarking on a ferry to the other side of the River. It is part of Phnom Penh City, but the lifestyle is totally different. You will cycle on back roads where you will encounter friendly locals and children. We will stop and have lunch at either a host family or pagoda on the way. Arrive Kompong Cham and you will check into your hotel before going out to a local restaurant for dinner.
This morning as you leave Kampong Cham on a paved road along the Mekong River toward Wat Hanchey, We cycle up to Wat Hanchey, a small hilltop pagoda that houses an 8th century pre-Angkorian temple and offers spectacular views over the Mekong. We then continue our ride, gradually climbing through shady rubber plantations, paddy fields and typical Khmer villages to Kampong Thmor where highway 6 starts, from where we transfer to Kampong Thom for lunch. After lunch, drive or cycle a few minutes to your hotel for check in, where you can rest your weary legs. In the evening, you’ll taken to a local restaurant for dinner.
After breakfast, we will have a beautiful ride to the ancient temple of Sambo Prei Kuk through paddy fields and small villages. We will have our lunch prepared by the local community near Sambor Preikuk. After which, you will be transferred by vehicle 2 hours and a half to Tonle Sap. The largest in South East Asia, board a small boat and sail through the traditional floating village of Kampong Phluk, witnessing the residents going about their daily life.
