Some people set out on the Caminho for spiritual reasons; many others find spiritual reasons along the Way as they meet other pilgrims and others to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and all the culture and nature involved.

Walking the Camino is a kind of therapy and a means through which they can process an internal problem of some kind. Many pilgrims use the “Camino” to let go of the past and start again with a clean soul.

When they arrive to Santiago, they can feel an amazing energy there, some people really cry when finished. It´s an amazing experience that you will never forget!

In this Tour you can experiencing the trails, villages, landscapes, gastronomy and culture from this amazing country.

Actually a big part of this area belongs to a national reserve. Full of small historical villages, where habitants keep their routines as if time stops, this bicycle tour allows you to relax, be in contact with the genuine Portuguese culture, get amazed by the landscape and ocean views and taste dishes that you will never forget.

We cycle on the N 125, until the beginning of the cycle path. On the cycle path we can see all the flora and fauna that surrounds the beautiful Ria Formosa.

Stop in Fuzeta for 30m. Return to Olhão and stop at our kiosk.

Next we cycle to Ria Formosa Natural Park where with a guide you can observe the fauna and flora. In this Park we can find many bird species, it is used as a resting area for migratory birds. Perfect nesting spot for birds arriving in spring, or the birds make the Ria Formosa their permanent habitat.

Visit to the tide mill, all restored and with a fantastic panoramic view of the barrier islands of Olhão. Afterwards we visit the Chalet Dr. João Lucio built in 1916 and now totally restored. The house has four entries distributed by the cardinal points. This Chalet has beautiful architecture and you will fall in love with the landscape. After visiting the inside and outside in detail we return to our kiosk.

The Algarve Granfondo Cofidis is the Granfondo of the Volta ao Algarve (Tour of Algarve). Departing and arriving in Lagoa, the 2020 edition will take place on 23rd February, on the same day as the last stage of the race that draws the most international stars to Portugal.

The participants of the Algarve Granfondo Cofidis can choose between two options:

• Granfondo with 121 km and a cumulative elevation gain of 2143 m
• Mediofondo with 78.7 km and a cumulative elevation gain of 959 m

The Granfondo is designed for participants who are fit and able to take a demanding challenge. They will climb to the highest point of the region, Fóia, an iconic place of the Volta ao Algarve and the Portuguese cycling.

The Mediofondo has a more accessible route, ideal for those who seek a relaxed Sunday morning, with the possibility of ending their sportive journey in time to watch the time trial that will decide this year’s edition of the Volta ao Algarve.

This will be a journey of immersion on the most genuine and least known landscapes of the Algarve.

The registration in Granfondo or Mediofondon includes the participation in the route chosen, provisions of food and drinks, gifts, bike number, insurance, finisher medal, shower, and buffet lunch.
