The Volta is the only Portuguese stage race on the UCI Pro Series circuit, with the race route exploring the Algarve in the south of Portugal.
The format of the race stays the same each year, and includes a time trial, challenging mountains of the Serra de Monchique and Serra do Caldeirao ranges, and sprint stages. Some thing for everyone and the ideal all-round test for the professional cycling peloton.
The 50th edition of the Volta ao Algarve Tour consists of 5 stages and will cover 752.9 kilometers and have an elevation gain of 14,455 meters.
