MTB Tours and Bikepacking Expeditions

Patagonia Bike Trips are a cycle touring company based in San Carlos de Bariloche, in the Andes of Argentine Patagonia. They began in 2016 as a small offshoot of a local mountain retail store and have grown into an established operator offering guided and self-guided bike tours, equipment rental and route planning for cyclists exploring northern Patagonia and neighbouring Chile.

They built their reputation on a bike and pannier rental service for multi-day self-guided trips, letting riders collect a bike in Bariloche and return it elsewhere, such as San Martín de los Andes at the end of the Seven Lakes Road. Self-guided routes come with preloaded GPS tracks, maps and accommodation information. Their guided programme ranges from half-day e-bike outings around Bariloche to multi-day supported tours with accommodation and logistics handled. They also run enduro and downhill e-MTB rides on the trail networks of Cerro Otto, Cerro Catedral and the surrounding mountains.

Their small team, led by general manager and route designer Lucas, combines strong local knowledge with active involvement in Bariloche’s mountain bike community, including trail building and maintenance. Riders can choose MTBs or e-bikes, and itineraries run from lakeside circuits to long bikepacking expeditions along the Carretera Austral. Their focus is nature-based adventure with a good balance of organisation, support and freedom.
