Tour Operator Feltre Bike Tour
With the Dolomite mountains in the background.
A weekend in Feltre is the minimum time you need to discover the rich historical and artistic heritage of this city that has a troubled past and is often overlooked by tourists attracted by better-known destinations. From our tourist office in Piazza Maggiore, you can set out to discover the historical city founded by the Reti with the name of Feltria. It had an important development in Roman times because of its proximity to the Via Claudia Augusta that from Altino, in the Venetian lagoon, reached Bavaria. Walking along the streets of Feltre up to the beautiful main square dominated by the Castle of Alboino, just raise your head to see the many Venetian palaces with frescoes, now a bit 'neglected, but that once had to be a wonder of colours that earned Feltre the nickname of the painted city.
The following day, after a good breakfast, the mountain bike guide of Feltre Bike Tour will take you along the cycle route that crosses the valley of Feltre with the mountains of the Dolomites National Park in the background. The departure is from your hotel or B&B, after a check of the vehicles we are ready to leave towards the first stage Villa Pasole Berton and the famous brewery of Pedavena with its park with animals, after a short visit we take the cycle route of Canalet that will lead us to Arten and then to Fonzaso along the VIA CLAUDIA AUGUSTA where we will find the capital of the Madonna delle Scalette and the church of San Michel set in the rock face.
Following the cycle route, we will arrive in Giaroni, the beginning of the Corlo lake, where a short climb will take us to the edge of the lake where we will find refreshment at the bar-restaurant of the campsite with typical dishes of the Feltre valley. Once refreshed we are ready to resume our tour of the lake to visit the Ponte delle Bassane, the Ponte della Vittoria and the dam of Corlo to finish at Incino through the old tunnels.
